The Medway Festival of Sport is organised by Medway Council’s 2012 and Sports Development Team in partnership with the Howard and Greenacre School Sports Partnerships, national governing bodies of sport, local clubs and leisure facilities.

The competitions support the nationwide ambition to create opportunities for young people to compete against each other in sporting events as a legacy of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Some events are qualifiers to the Kent School Games finals taking place in June 2012. A National School Games competition is also being staged by the government in the summer of 2012, with the action focused on the Olympic and Paralympic venues.
