Games-time travel website launched

A one-stop travel shop that enables London 2012 spectators to plan their routes a year ahead of the Games before booking their travel has been launched.

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) is encouraging spectators to start planning their journeys to venues now that event tickets have been allocated, with Games-time travel tickets on sale 12 months in advance of next summer.

The online London 2012 spectator journey planner and travel pages marks the first time such a comprehensive travel tool has been specifically created for an Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Paralympic Games ticket prices announced

The London 2012 Organising Committee has published its prices for Paralympic Games tickets, with more than half of the 2million tickets available priced at £10 or less.

The Paralympic Games takes place between 29 August and 9 September 2012, with 20 sports taking place at 19 venues. Tickets go on sale on the London 2012 ticketing website from 9 September 2011, with applications accepted until 30 September.

Some 1.8million people applied for tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Competition schedule unveiled

The London 2012 Organising Committee has announced the competition schedule for the Olympic Games.

The announcement follows last month's news that ticket applications will open on Tuesday, 15 March 2011.

ODA publishes guidance for businesses

The Olympic Delivery Authority has published a guidance document and online toolkit to help businesses to plan for the Games.

The handbook contains information on the likely transport impact in London, key event dates and questions organisations should address to gauge the implications for business continuity.

How to buy official London 2012 merchandise

A new London 2012 shop opened in The Lawn shopping area of Paddington Station, selling a wide range of merchandise such as soft toys, clothing and accessories, key rings, gifts, pin badges and collectibles.

Official merchandise is also available online from the London 2012 Shop.

Deadline passes for registering as a London 2012 volunteer

More than 240,000 people have applied to be London 2012 Games Makers, volunteering at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Applications have now closed and the process to select the people who will undertake the 70,000 volunteer roles has begun.
