Secondary School Games Athletics

The finale to the SSG season 2011 2012 was held Thursday, 28 June at Medway Park, in a day of top class secondary school competition and warm sunshine for all involved.

Throughout the day up to 800 competitors representing the Secondary Schools in Medway, competed in field events including Javelin, Shot Putt, Discuss, High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump to collect points for their schools as well as individual medals.

The track programme was full of events throughout the day from hurdles to 4 x 100m relays, the competition was for both male and female athletes.

Secondary School Games reaches its climax

The winning schools in the 2011/12 Medway Secondary School Games have been announced.SSG winners 2012 Howard School

The Howard School and Rainham School for Girls won the boys' and girls' titles respectively.

Second places went to Greenacre School and Walderslade Girls School and third places to Sir Joseph Williamsons Mathematical School and Brompton Academy (girls teams).

The Secondary School Games are an annual series of inter-school competitions organised by Medway Council as part of the Medway Games programme. The events are supported by schools, national governing bodies of sport and local clubs.
