The SSG is a multi-sport programme of events run through the school year for all Medway secondary schools.

It forms part of the Medway Games series organised by Medway Council’s Sports Development Team with the support of Medway’s two school sports partnerships, national governing bodies, local sports clubs and leisure facilities. Prizes are awarded at each event and points are gained towards the overall Medway Secondary School Games title.

Secondary School Games: Inter cricket

Hundred of Hoo Secondary School took their first SSG trophy as they overcame The Howard School in a closely fought final to win the Medway Secondary School Games Inter Cricket Tournament.

More than 100 children from eight Medway secondary schools attended High Halstow Cricket Club on Wednesday, 24 May to take part in the 8-over Inter Cricket tournament. The tournament consisted of two groups of four teams, with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the semi finals.

Both the Hundred of Hoo and the Howard school were runners up in their group stages so did really well to fend off Rainham Mark and Greenacre in their semi-finals. Hundred of Hoo played the final at the top of their game and ran out 103-75 winners, leaving Howard school worthy runners up, Greenacre took 3rd place and Rainham Mark 4th in their 99 – 91 play off match.
