St Margaret's take MYG crown

Pupils from St Margaret's, winners of the MYG series for 2010/11St Margaret's Junior School have been crowned the Mini Youth Games champion for 2010/11.

Pupils were presented with their winners' trophy at the end of year presentation night at Medway Park as part of the Medway Festival of Sport.

St Margaret's won two individual competitions during the 2010/11 season - hockey and table tennis. Their overall consistency through the year was enough to secure them to overall crown.

They pipped Balfour Junior School to the title, while Sherwin Knight Junior School took third place.

Wainscott Primary School won the award for the Best Placed Small School while Miers Court Primary School won the Participation Award, given to the school that uses the most children for the competitions through the year.

The MYG is a multi-sport programme of events run through the school year for all Medway Primary Schools. 

It forms part of the Medway Games series organised by Medway Council’s 2012 and Sports Development Team with the support of Medway’s two school sports partnerships, national governing bodies, local sports clubs and leisure facilities.

Prizes are awarded at each event and points are gained towards the overall Mini Youth Games title.
