Secondary School Games reaches its climax

Pupils from the SSG winners Greenacre SchoolThe winning schools in the 2010/11 Medway Secondary School Games have been announced.

Greenacre School and Rainham School for Girls won the boys' and girls' titles respectively.

Greenacre had won two of the individual sporting events during the year, but performed well enough across the board to take the overall title.

Chatham Grammar School for Boys and The Howard School came second and third respectively.

Rainham School for Girls had won three events during the year. Walderslade Girls took second place ahead of Brompton Academy in third.

The Secondary School Games are an annual series of inter-school competitions organised by Medway Council as part of the Medway Games programme.

The events are supported by schools, national governing bodies of sport and local clubs.
