The event will feature around 100 athletes from the country's leading clubs, including the Kent Crusaders, doing battle in two days of brutal competition in a bid to be crowned the first Super Series champions.

Wheelchair rugby is a Paralympic sport, and the competition will feature many of the squad who will represent Team GB in the London Games next year.

The sport, nicknamed "murderball", is played by men and women with upper and lower limb disabilities.

Event manager from GBWR said: "Wheelchair rugby is one of the fastest growing Paralympic sports on the planet; a nail biting, seat gripping, full contact wheelchair sport and it's coming back to Medway Park.

"Come down and watch."

The full list of participating teams and schedule will be confirmed soon.

Spectator admission to the event will be free and matches will begin from 9am each day.
