Medway Games

montarge of sportsAs Medway counts down to the 2012 Games, a major focus is on creating opportunities for sporting competition for people of all ages.

The Medway Games series is one of the most extensive school and community sporting programmes anywhere in the country, involving thousands of people in sport each year.

The Games are run by Medway Council's 2012 and Sports Development Team and supported by local sports clubs, school sports partnerships and national governing bodies of sport.

Mini Youth Games

Mini Youth Games, a multi-sport programme of events, runs throughout the school year. The series is open to children in Years 4, 5 and 6 from all Medway Primary Schools and invited external schools. The competition annually involves thousands of children from more than 60 different schools.

 

Medway Disability Youth Games

This multi-sport programme of events takes place in three stages. The first is the Winter Games, which involves a 10-week skiing coaching programme and a fun and friendly competition. This is followed by a Swimming Gala and then a Summer Games finale. The Medway Disability Youth Games are open to all Medway special schools and units

 

Medway Community Games

Medway Community GamesMedway Council's 2012 and sports development team organises and supports a number of community sporting competitions and events under the umbrella of the Medway Community Games.

 

Medway Festival of Sport

Medway Festival of Sport is a sporting celebration for the whole Medway community.

The 2013 Festival of Sport will be a programme featuring events ranging from schools tournaments and mass participation events to elite competitions and international events. 

Medway Council is seeking new sponsors to support the exciting Medway Games programme.
