Medway Park

A sporting centre of excellence with the
needs of the community at its heart.
Medway Park is Medway's new
£11m centre of sporting excellence inspired by the 2012
Games.
The project, which was
completed in January 2010, has provided the people of Medway with
world class facilities for use by the local community and elite
athletes alike.
The new-look centre
offers:
- a new 12-court multi-sports
hall;
- a new eight-lane athletics
track;
- a dedicated judo
centre;
- a 100-station health and
fitness and free-weights suite;
- the University of Kent
centre for sports therapy and sports science;
- a dedicated health and
fitness suite for junior athletes;
- upgraded swimming and
changing room facilities;

- fully-integrated disabled
access and changing rooms;
- conference room with
interactive white board;
- a new cafeteria and bar
area.

Medway Park has already
developed a reputation as a major event
venue for regional, national and international
competitions.
The centre's completion was
celebrated at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup in 2010, the first
global sporting event to ever be staged in Medway.
It has since hosted an
international basketball series, national tetrathlon competition,
and other regional and county competitions, including the
2012 the British Transplant Games.
Medway Park is already home
to a number of national standard athletes and teams, including the
Medway Park Crusaders national league basketball team and GB judo
players and athletes.
The centre was approved
by London 2012 organisers as a Pre Games Training Camp for 13
Olympic and eight Paralympic sports.
